ALEXIS Operations:
The ALEXIS device is a flexible experimental tool for studying magnetized plasmas. The largest, and most complex, of the PSL experiments, it also features a variety of advanced operating modes that allow for highly precise experiments to be undertaken.
Key operational features of ALEXIS include:
- 16-channel, 1 MHz data acquistion system with additional GPIB digital multimeter and oscilloscope interfaces.
- LabView software control over almost all major subsystems of ALEXIS including:
- 2-line gas system
- magnetic field system
- data acquisition system
- plasma monitoring systems
- Two software controlled, movable probes (up to 4 possible) allowing precise, reproducible scans of the plasma.
