Link to the original DEMO chamber page - the original chamber developed a crack and was retired in Spring, 2007
The PSL has built a new Demo-2 chamber for use in its outreach activities. This new chamber - which is constructed from Plexiglas like its predecessor - is a cylindrical chamber 8" in diameter and 12" tall.
It is a fully working plasma / dusty plasma source that is used to illustrate plasma formation and some of the technologies and diagnostic tools used to study plasmas. The slide show on this link shows the construction process used to make Demo-2.

The Demo-2 chamber is mounted on a cart and can be transported as a "self-contained" experiment. If you are interested in having Prof. Thomas and/or members of the PSL visit your school with the Demo-2 experiment to discuss plasma science or physics in general, use the "CONTACT" link in the menu.
