5/4/07

Exam solutions for Ex. 3 and Ex. 4 have been posted online.
I will be in my office (Allison 101) on Sunday afternoon between 3 pm and 5 pm to answer any questions students may have regarding the final exam. I am still on travel, so I'm only able to reply to e-mails occasionally.

Please note that the class schedule was not updated last week due to an error on my part - I forgot to transfer the appropriate file.
The schedule on the website has NOW been updated with the list of final lectures.
I have updated the lecture notes on Light with some minor additions. Please download the new version.
Reminder: Exam 4 is on Friday, April 27th. Be sure to bring a blue scan sheet for the exam. All of the rules applied to the previous three exams apply.
All class notes prior to March 12 have been moved to the archive page.

Exam 3 has been graded and the score have been posted on WebAssign. The overall class average was 72.58. Overall, I am again pleased with the overall class performace on this exam. I expect to return exams in class on Wednesday.

Updated lecture notes for Ch. 22-24 should be posted by the end of this week.

Updated notes for Ch. 14 (gases and plasmas) and Ch. 13 (liquids) have been posted on the class website.
I am in the process of preparting Exam 3. It will consist of problems from Chapter 10 (Projectile and Satellite Motion) through Chapter 14 (Gases and Plasmas). It will likely contain between 30 to 35 questions.
This exam will be a mixture of problem solving, information, and conceptual ideas - much like the previous exams. However, there will be more of an emphasis on concepts and information/facts than on the previous two exams. Make sure that you read the chapters carefully and review the lecture notes.
I will be available in my office Monday 11 - 12, Wednesday 11 - 12 and 1:30 - 2:30 if you have questions about material that will be on the exam. Alternatively, you can schedule an appointment with me.
Please note: This week I have a faculty meeting on Tueday afternoon (3-5 pm) and an all day conference call (10:30 am - 4:00 pm) on Thursday. I am unavailable at those times.
